BACKGROUND

Positive Action for Development (PAD) was launched in 2011 by Girma Admasu (PhD Candidate). PAD is an Indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit; secular and legally registered Ethiopian Civil Society Organization with a registration number 2330. PAD was created by a founding leader who desire to be an organization of excellence, humanity, and optimism that can be a role model organization in the industry.

The organization was established with a vision to see a community of hope, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security. The organization has a mission to save lives, promote hope, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice through integrated and sustainable development approaches. The organization, which started a girls’ education program with a $5,000 grant in 2011 in Dire Dawa, has grown in a decade into a diversified nationwide organization with a financial management capacity worth $6,538,120.73.

Currently, we are an organization with diversified background & expertise in program management areas including Education, Child Care and Support , Health, Destitute Support, Peace Building & Conflict Mitigation, Migrant Returnees’ Protection and Re-Integration , Human Rights, Democracy & Good Governance , Advocacy, Livelihood and Youth Employment, Environment and climate change, Multipurpose cash distribution , Agriculture, Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Emergency shelter and non-food item (ES/NFI), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) , Protection and Education in Emergencies.

PAD has more than 12 years of experience in providing services in humanitarian and development sector. PAD has active operational presences in almost all parts of Ethiopia. In addition to this PAD is an active member of a Consortium, clusters and platforms with wider reach in the country.
